Social Security offices in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands currently remain closed. These offices will be reopened as soon as possible. The agency will continue to pay Social Security benefits via direct deposit. Residents of Puerto Rico and the USVI who wish to contact Social Security administration may call 800-772-1213.

All electrical problems must be reported to the WAPA Emergency Call Centers to be properly documented and tracked. These problems include, but are not limited to, electrical service interruptions as well as damaged and downed facilities such as poles, transformers, and power lines.
The WAPA Call Centers are now operating 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., seven days per week. St. Thomas – St. John: 340-774-1424 and St. Croix: 340-773-0150.
SBA provides low-interest disaster loans to eligible homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes (including landlords) and private nonprofit organizations for disaster damages not fully covered by insurance or other compensation. You should complete and return the SBA loan application if one is provided. You do not need to accept a loan, but if you are not approved for the loan you may be eligible for additional assistance from FEMA. Applicants may apply online using SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela or call SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955. Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing may call 800-877-8339.
U.S. Virgin Islanders who lost their jobs due to hurricanes Irma or Maria may now apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help get them back on their feet. Survivors may apply and file a claim at these locations:
St. John: U.S. Virgin Islands Legislature, St. John Annex, 1D Cruz Bay, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
St. Thomas: The U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) Department of Labor at 2353 Kronprindsens Gade, St. Thomas, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday
St. Croix: Juanita Gardine Elementary School (rooms 102 and 103), from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday
